Myanmar

The Jesuits continue to nurture and nourish various projects in Myanmar in the field of spiritual direction for priests, the running of two institutions for adult education, provision of support for the religious, and involvement in social issues. In the aftermath of Cylcone Nargis, which devastated large areas of Myanmar in 2008, the Jesuits worked with local organisations to provide grassroots relief and ongoing support and rehabilitation. A number of young men from Myanmar are currently training to become Jesuit.
