The Maytime Fair

The Maytime Fair is a major annual fundraiser for the work of JesuitDescription goes here... Mission supported by a vast array of friends and benefactors connected with schools, parishes and other communities in Victoria and beyond.

It is run by an Executive Committee of Victorian Friends of Jesuit Mission. Their main policy for the running of the Maytime Fair is that every stall and attraction donates 100% of its profit for the work of Jesuit Mission (except for the few stalls and attractions that are hired in for the day). The Maytime Fair consistently contributes over $100,000 each year for vital work in the developing world.

Among those directly involved in the running of the Maytime Fair are members of the communities of the three campuses of Xavier College and students and staff from a number of other schools. Alumni and past parents associated with Xavier and St Pat's and other Jesuit schools in Australia and beyond work generously for the success of these functions.

There are also members of the parish communites of St Ignatius and StDescription goes here... James in Richmond and Immaculate Conception and St Joseph's in Hawthorn. Many people contribute to the success of the Maytime Fair which is so generously hosted by the Xavier College Senior Campus at Kew.

Perhaps the most inspiring thing about fundraising for Jesuit Mission and JRS is that so many people from so many different communities come together each year to work with complete altruism for the benefit of people in far away lands whom they will never meet. In such a practical and fun way, these functions highlight the interconnectedness of all God's children. Through financial support and through spiritual and human solidarity, all can share in the international mission of the Society of Jesus, building bridges across religious, cultural and social divides.
